Twitter has just recently started rolling out a new live-streaming “Periscope button” into its iOS app.
The feature will allow users to start a real-time broadcast from Twitter’s app without having to use the live-streaming video service Periscope. This is an obvious way to introduce more people to Periscope who have never used the standalone app. But the real question many people have is “why do I need it?” How will this live video platform benefit my business?
That’s why I recently invited social media strategist Afton Negrea on my show to talk about how to use Periscope as a marketing tool. Afton has used Periscope to generate some incredible revenue and grow her audience over the last year.
With no list and no real following, Afton was able to make over $6K from her first launch (that’s more than Jeff Walker made on his first product launch!). On this episode, Afton will be discussing some strategies for growing your tribe on Periscope even if you don’t have a huge following on Twitter to start with.
Periscope has an immense amount of organic reach through the app itself, as well as Twitter and Facebook. Afton will be sharing some Periscope marketing strategies that will help you build a following and grow your organic reach on Periscope with as little as one broadcast per day.
On this interview, we’ll be discussing:
- How to craft exclusive, engaging content so that consumers have a reason to follow your video stream and share it.
- How to effectively promote your ʼScope live streams ahead of time on social media, so that viewers share the broadcasts as they happen.
- How to measure your results on Periscope by tracking the amount of people tuning in, viewer retention rate and number of “hearts” received.
- And much, much more!
