Remember the good old days when you could throw up a site in few minutes, generate a few lousy written keyword articles, stick some adsense code on it, and voila! …you had a money making site!
I say this tongue and cheek of course. The good ol’ days were far from good. They attracted a lot of “something for nothing” crowds. Those who like getting paid for the least effort.
Lest you think I’m preaching from an ivory white tower, let me just say I was guilt of falling for the “easy buck” mentality years ago as well. I was launching adsense sites faster than you could say “Google Slap”.
The lure of getting paid for the least amount of effort is something we all deal with from time to time. It’s why billions are spent on late night infomercials promising the world if you buy this or that course. It’s why millions of emails are sent out everyday almost guaranteeing you that you can make 6 figure incomes by spending only a few hours of time and maybe a few clicks a week.
When it comes to generating income online, the days of “cutting corners” and getting paid for crappy content are over.
And that’s a good thing for all of us!
It forces everyone to really evaluate their true passion before they jump into a niche. After all, the only niche idea that’s going to be successful, is the one that you are 100% committed to.
This week John Robinson (a.k.a. “Xfactor”) joins us for a fantastic interview to talk about his own experience building a solid foundation for long term success with or without Google.

John offers a great example of stirring up controversy from an article he wrote on the topic of “not giving immunization shots to children”.
So the bottom line is stop trying to game the system, and ask yourself if the content you are putting out is something others will really love and and share.
