This week, Ellory Wells joins me on the show to share his inspirational story on leaving the corporate world behind to follow his passion full time.
Ellory is an online marketer, business coach, author and podcaster. He hosts the Empowered Podcast, a top ranked show for empowering and equipping entrepreneurs to take their offline expertise and turn it into a successful online business.
He’s also the author of the brand new book How to Start Your Professional Podcast for $200 or Less.
I really enjoyed talking with Ellory because his story has a similar path to mine. Ellory was laid off from his corporate sales job at IBM back in 2009.
What made this layoff even tougher was that he was given a pink slip just days after purchasing an engagement ring for his fiance.
The layoff was an eye opener for Ellory; but it was also a blessing in disguise.
It gave him time to re-evaluate his work life and ponder what he wanted to do. He realized that working for someone else, and having them determine your financial fate was riskier than working for yourself.
Ellory spent the time without a job not only getting re-focused with his goals, but he also started writing a fiction book.
Three months after being fired, he took another job with one of the largest IT companies in the world. But this time, he had a plan for leaving the corporate world permanently to pursue his entrepreneurial vision.
Last year, Ellory left his full time job to focus on creating passive income full time.
He now writes, creates information products, podcasts and coaches others on turning passions and interests into an online business.
Just recently, he launched his new book and was able to take it to number 1 bestseller on Amazon for a number of different business categories.
In this interview, you’ll get some great takeaways like:
- How to position yourself as the obvious expert and charge what you’re worth
- Ellory’s workflow process for creating information products and his coaching program
- How he started his successful podcast show on a shoestring budget… and you can too!
- How he took his Kindle ebook to number bestseller on Amazon
- Strategies for getting more done during your workday
- And much more!
Enjoy the interview!
