Anytime you’re having a difficult week in your business or personal life, I want you to take a moment and listen to this amazing story from my guest this week Brian Fleming. In fact you should just bookmark this show post or download the mp3 to listen to a few times.
Brian’s story is truly inspiring. He’s is a former soldier who served with the US Army’s Elite 10th Mountain Division as a Team Leader in an Infantry Platoon while fighting the war in Afghanistan.
While there, his vehicle was blown up twice. The second time it happened, Brian was severely injured when a suicide bomber pulled up right next to him and exploded 3-feet away.
Brian now travels the world as an author and speaker teaching companies, organizations, and military bases how to be more resilient when adversity strikes.
His new book Redeployed that he co-authored with Chad M. Robichaux Ph.D, helps to equip and educate returning combat-veterans and their families on how to win the most common battles they face after returning home from war.
In this interview Brian shares his own personal struggles of overcoming severe injuries, and how he used this experience to move forward with his new calling – helping others overcome obstacles.
Brian also shares some key advice on having mentors in your life, and why it’s so important to surround yourself with people who are better than yourself.
I personally love Brian’s own view of education, and why self education through mentors and books is in most cases better than anything you’ll ever get at a 4 year institution.
